Free seats were arranged to our sangam members students at Central Polytechnic,Tharamani. 2 students during June 2015, 1 Student during June 2016 and alsoarranged earlier at Murugappa Polytechnic, Avadi.Earlier we have provided books for our students of 10th, +1 & +2.We help our studetns for Higher Studies by providing educational loans and alsoby recommending for assistance offered by other Nagarathar Sangams andSocieties like NSNA (Nagarathar Sangam of North America), Canada,U.K., Abudabi and Nagarathar Ikkiya Sangam)
Every year, we conduct competitions for students in various categories like,oration, essay, songs, Drawing etc., and encourage them also for fancy dresscompetitions. Our women are encouraged to take part in "Kolam" and "Thalattu"for the past 18 years on 15th August every year. We distribute prizes to thewinners & conduct special AGM to the members to approve audited balance sheet.
For the past 22 years, for the economically backward students based on need,for 40 students, we have been offering educational assistance upto Rs. 1,000 tocover expenses for school fees, cost of books etc. (Rs.500, 600, 1000) for LKGto College Studies to our sangam members and 25 other chettiar students everyyear till date Rs. 7,10,000/- has been offered.For the past 11 years, Earlier we have offered assistance of Rs. 500 or 600each for students for learning typewriting and computers.Date : 14-9-2016
Earlier we also provided assistance of Rs. 1,000 for students joining coachingclass for professional Entrance Exams (after 12th)We run a library based on the collection of books donated by Mr. ArunodhayamArunan and other members. Students and our members uttilise these collections.Earlier past 14 years, economically backward student one of them supportedwith their complete educational expenses through the support offered byMr. A.A. Palaniappa Chettiar (Donar)For students of our sangam for the past 18 years, we are conducting Quizcompetitions, on every year Anniversary function.
